UN/KNOT

VIS/ION

Rope as a slow conversation between two people. The photographs keep what was said: the pressure, the warmth, the pause before release.

THE ARTIST

UN/KNOT is a photography project from Berlin. It began with tying and only later became photographing: first as a way to remember sessions, then as the point of them.

The work is made with jute rope, one or two lights and rooms of wood and clay. Some people come in black, some in colour, some in nothing. The rope stays the same; the person changes everything.

Rope
Jute, 6 mm, hand-treated
Light
One tungsten lamp, sometimes daylight
Place
